My old laptop would hibernate when the battery died (saving all my data). How do I change this setting? Is there something wrong with my laptop?

I already look in Power Options, the only ones that are there are for closing the lid, and for setting when it sleeps.
This must be specific to Vista.

I have a new wireless printer. I connected it fine to my laptop at home running Vista, but can’t get it to connect to the laptop in the office running Windows XP. I connect to the internet via a Three dongle, and don’t have a router in the office.

So 2 questions really - is it possible to connect my XP-laptop to the printer - and if so - how?

I’ve read a bit about ad-hoc networks, but can’t work it out!

I am planning on buying a laptop but need some tips. The laptop would be used at home only (no office work). I am not using it for gaming but for music download etc. Anyone have any tips for a fairly good priced laptop that also performs well. I currently have a Dell (which I hate) and beginning to look for a new laptop. I am a college student and work part-time in public relations. I also listen to a lot of music and watch DVDs when I’m at the airport.

I am looking for a new laptop that has a realy big disk space, something relaible, and isn’t too high in the purchase price. So any suggestions is greatly apprecaited. And please no Dell!!!!
